    The 2026 NICER Symposium, titled "The One and Only NICER: Cytokines, Connections, and the Progress towards Cures," will delve into the latest advancements in cytokine biology and the connections - both personal and physiologic - central to creating cures for immuno-hematologic disorders.

Megan Cooper, MD PhD

Megan Cooper, MD, PhD, is a pediatric rheumatologist/immunologist at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. She is the director of clinical immunology at Children’s and an associate director of the Medical Scientist Training Program at WashU Medicine. She received her MD and PhD from Ohio State University before coming to WashU Medicine for her pediatric residency and fellowship in pediatric rheumatology. Steve Holland, MD

Steven M. Holland serves as director of the Division of Intramural Research (DIR) at NIAID. Dr. Holland provides overall executive direction of the division’s basic and clinical research activities, which cover infectious diseases, immunology, and allergy. Dr. Holland also serves as the chief of the Immunopathogenesis Section within the Laboratory of Clinical Immunology and Microbiology (LCIM).
